Extending Independence, Enhancing Outcomes: Highlights from Argentum 2025

At this year’s Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference, we brought together senior living leaders to explore one shared goal: helping older adults live with greater independence, purpose, and connection.

Across two sessions, Kristy Yoskey and Murry Mercier demonstrated how smart wellness programs, proactive planning, and stronger care partnerships are driving real results. The message was clear: when we focus on timely insights and collaboration, everyone benefits — from residents and families to staff and operators.

A Connected Approach to Resident Wellness

In her session, Kristy Yoskey, Vice President and Market Leader for Senior Living at PointClickCare, offered a strategic look at where the industry is headed and how coordinated, person-centered wellness can help providers meet rising expectations.

She challenged communities to shift the story of aging from one of decline to opportunity, with care models that foster both independence and connection.

Kristy shared national data comparing resident outcomes in communities with coordinated wellness programs to the average experiences of senior living residents. Within wellness coordinated communities:

  • 55% of residents had annual wellness visits (vs. 30%)
  • Emergency department use dropped to 2.3% (vs. 7.9%)
  • Hospitalizations per resident per month were nearly cut in half

The takeaway? When communities embrace whole-person wellness and timely insights, both residents and operations thrive.

Operational Excellence Through Timely Coordination

Murry Mercier, our Director of Senior Living Solution Consulting, brought a hands-on perspective to his session — moderating a panel discussion with leaders from Arrow Senior Living and EmpowerMe Wellness.

Together, they dove into how timely service coordination works on the ground: identifying resident needs earlier, enabling more proactive interventions, and making collaboration with care partners like pharmacies and outpatient therapy providers smoother and more efficient.

Panelists shared tangible results, including increased length of stays, lower hospitalization rates, improved occupancy growth, and greater staff efficiency.

The key takeaway: service planning can no longer be static. It must evolve in real time — just like the residents communities serve.

Empowering Staff and Strengthening Partnerships

A common thread across both sessions was how technology can empower, not replace, care teams. By putting timely service information into the hands of staff, we’re helping them have great interactions with residents while personalizing care and responding faster when a resident’s condition changes.

But as Murry’s panel highlighted, it’s not just about the tools, it’s about the ecosystem. Delivering seamless, proactive care requires strong, accountable partnerships. That’s why we work closely with pharmacies, therapy providers, hospitals, and labs to ensure critical insights are shared across the continuum.

Our Vision: Purposeful Living, Seamless Care

As Kristy emphasized in her session, “Older adults don’t just want to add years to their life — they want to add life to their years.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us. See you at Argentum 2026!
