The Year of the Nurse and Midwife: Honoring the Heart of Healthcare

About The Year of the Nurse and Midwife

The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife and PointClickCare is proud to join in this tribute to the nursing profession.

Nurses have been – and will continue to be – the heart of the healthcare industry. Their contributions are critical not only to day-to-day care, but also in expanding the reach and types of healthcare available in the future. Nurses are trying to make the world a healthier place, and we applaud and support this effort.

The nursing profession has always faced change, but the new normal for nurses means accelerated change in almost every aspect of the profession.

As Florence Nightingale said, “Were there none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach anything better.”

Part of our mission at PointClickCare is to help nurses incorporate technology to make their jobs easier and advance their profession. We are excited to share this challenge as we enter this year of special recognition for nurses.

PointClickCare Celebrates Nurses Everywhere

Nominate a nurse (this could be yourself!) who you believe deserves to be recognized for the difference they make in their community. Each month in 2020 we will select a practicing nurse and will shine a light on their dedication and efforts.

Nurse of the Month Recipients will:

  • Receive a trip* to our 10th Annual PointClickCare SUMMIT 2020 in Orlando, Florida
  • Have their story featured on the PointClickCare blog
  • Be featured in a full-page ad in Provider Magazine
  • Receive exclusive PointClickCare Year of the Nurse swag

Thanks to determination, resilience and a trailblazing spirit, the nursing profession has come a long way in 200 years – and we are dedicated to helping elevate it further in the coming decades. Being a nurse is one of the most challenging paths to take. But there is hope that by continually learning, listening and staying engaged, current and future initiatives will ease the burden, enabling nurses to do more of what they love—and remember why they originally chose this noble profession.

Celebrate with us and nominate a nurse today!
