Argentum 2019: The Power of Confidence with PointClickCare

For the past several years, PointClickCare has supported Argentum as an exhibitor and sponsor for their annual Senior Living Executive Conference and Expo – and this year is no exception.

To give you the inside scoop into our presence this year at Argentum, we caught up with Cheryl Crooks, PointClickCare’s Senior Director of Market Development for Senior Living, to see what PointClickCare has planned for 2019.

Q: What makes our presence at Argentum 2019 stand out from years past?

A: We are proud to announce that we have created a new purpose-built app for Senior Living communities. All those attending the expo will get to see PointClickCare Companion, the newest enhancement for Senior Living. It puts resident information for care and service delivery in the employee’s hand.  With intuitive technology like this, there is minimal training time and all the data you need.

We’ll also be sharing information on our Service Optimization Value Program in partnership with Plante Moran. The purpose of this initiative is to help Senior Living providers gain visibility into their operations and better understand where they can achieve the best NOI.

Q: One of the goals for PointClickCare Senior Living is to empower facilities to create “A foundation for building a community where people want to live and work.” How does this fit into your overall plan for Senior Living in 2019?

A: Over the last three years, the senior living leadership team has taken a deep dive into the goals of senior living operators across the market. We’ve interviewed market leaders, our current customers, and visited communities across the US and Canada. Our product teams, developers, customer success teams, and overall organization were able to understand what Senior Living operators’ initiatives are, how they measured success, and how we could help develop the tools to operationalize their goals.

Organizations all shared common goals:

  • Attracting and retaining talent
  • Enhancing the resident experience
  • Creating a safe and compliant environment
  • Achieving and maintaining financial health

Our entire platform has proven to deliver results and success for Senior Living operators. Our plan for the year is to continue the process of driving value to the market by delivering what they’re asking for and what they need for optimal success.

Q: How would you describe our Senior Living brand?

Our brand is more widely used and recognized in the market than any other platform. We are a cross continuum model that supports Senior Living and the Long-term post acute care market. I believe Senior Living is a collaborative industry and PointClickCare continues to demonstrate our drive towards collaboration. As an example, providers have asked for the ability to connect with other platforms and modules, and we are offering that to them in a new way. With the launch of our PointClickCare Marketplace, we give providers the ability to choose an enterprise platform that truly supports their entire organization. And we aren’t stopping there – stop by the booth to hear more.

Q: What are you excited to see at Argentum this year?

Argentum is a great place to continue learning what our providers will be looking for in the upcoming year – who’s talking about Medicare Advantage in Senior Living, who’s got new ideas on disruption. I’m looking forward to congratulating all of the women in Senior Living who just received Women of Distinction honors. We’re very proud to be partnering with McKnight’s as the exclusive Platinum sponsor for this initiative.

On a personal note, I am thrilled to get the chance to see Sarah Thomas speak. As the first female NFL referee in a major game, she is a hero of mine. I am looking forward to hearing her experience as a pioneer in a male dominated industry. She is someone who wasn’t expected and I like the person who wasn’t expected. So, the question becomes, who is going to be the unexpected disruptor in our industry?

Q: What kind of trends can we expect to see in Senior Living this year, and how has/will this help shape our Senior living platform?

A: Currently in Senior Living, there is a lot of discussion around market disruption. Many are questioning what the largest disruptor to our industry will be, and how this will change the market going forward.  There is speculation of course. Some say senior living operators participating in Medicare Advantage plans or in the healthcare continuum of their community, others are focused on unique programs and services, and others are creating multigenerational living communities.

The truth is we don’t know how any of these factors will shape our platform, but we do know that our close partnership with our customers and presence with market leaders continue to keep us aligned with how we invest, develop, and deliver the platform of choice for Senior Living providers. PointClickCare will be ready.
