Staff Training: The Intersection of RoP & PDPM

With the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM) fast approaching – and 60 days later, Phase 3 of the Requirements of Participation (ROP 3), homes are pressed to get everything done to be ready. PDPM is requiring homes to take a serious look at their resident quality mix to determine if the skill and need mix will optimize PDPM reimbursement. This process is also pushing homes to look  closely at their current staff resources to ensure that they have the right skill-mix to prepare for more clinically-complex residents. This means evaluating your staff for their skill set to support this transition is a must.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand how PDPM may change your resident population and how that ties into staff skills
  • Implement a competency framework to manage staff education and up-skilling needs
  • Develop a plan for ensuring they are meeting the ROP requirements for education and how that relates back to their facility assessment
