Journey to PointClickCare
Before joining PointClickCare, Angeline was a long-time volunteer for healthcare organizations. “From my volunteer experience, I knew that I’d love to work for an organization that focuses on the health and wellbeing of people.” When she found PointClickCare, she quickly noticed that the alignment between her values and the values and mission of the organization was a natural fit. “I owe a debt of gratitude to the recruiters who spoke with me in detail about how special PointClickCare is and how the work aligns with my volunteerism and values. They convinced me that by joining the organization, I would be making a difference, and I’m so glad I was given this opportunity.”
Making a Difference in DEI
Working with PointClickCare for over 9 years, Angeline has had the opportunity to branch out into several different jobs and most recently has taken on the role of Director of DEI and Culture. She says this role and this opportunity is perfect for her as she loves working with people and learning something new with every interaction and situation. “Fostering inclusion is also at the heart of who I am as a person, I believe in being open, fair, transparent, and enabling equitable opportunities.”
The Impact of PointClickCare
Angeline chooses to work for PointClickCare because of the company’s mission, vision and values and her strong personal connection to them. She also said that it’s important to her that she can be proud of the work she does and who it impacts. “Our team members, culture, and the fact that our work and technology make a meaningful difference and helps to care for others is the reason I show up every day.” For Angeline, the positive impact PointClickCare has on the areas we live, operate, and contribute to, is extremely rewarding. “The work is challenging, rewarding, and it’s about creating lasting and positive change for people.”
On Leadership
Angeline believes that great leadership can come from a variety of different methodologies and approaches but that the most important characteristics for a leader to possess are growth mindset, curiosity, and empathy. “When we think we know everything, or don’t attempt to understand and consider the thoughts and feelings of other people, we’ve missed the opportunity to better ourselves and the world around us.”
Angeline’s personal leadership style can be described as collaborative, and she does her best to incorporate it into her daily work. “Being a collaborative leader means engaging people and teams outside of my own group to inspire them to work toward a common goal. I interact with a variety of team members at all levels of the organization and in doing so, I deliberately connect with people that have varying lived experiences, perspectives, roles, and responsibilities so that I can continue growing and learning.”
Thank you for sharing, Angeline!
