Introducing Amandeep Vaid, PointClickCare’s Senior Director, Contracts and Legal Business Partner. In this role, Amandeep oversees the contracting process enterprise-wide to ensure compliance with legal requirements and mitigate risks. As a strategic advisor to senior management, he aligns contractual agreements with business objectives and collaborates with cross-functional teams to negotiate and draft contracts, manage third-party relationships, and resolve legal issues.

• Favorite board game: Scrabble! Without a doubt, one of the best board games ever created — particularly for someone like me who loves words.
• Favorite books, movies, or TV shows? “Never Split the Difference” by Chris Voss is one of the best books I’ve read recently. Written by a former FBI hostage negotiator, it’s an insightful guide to negotiation and communication.
• Interests outside of work? Cars, both classic and modern. I’ve currently got my eye on an early 1970’s Corvette Stingray!

Journey to PointClickCare

Amandeep’s journey to PointClickCare is a unique one. “Initially, I had aspirations of becoming a police officer, but after completing a policing course at the age of 19, I felt that I wasn’t ready for that path yet,” he explained. Instead, Amandeep decided to go to law school in the U.K., where he was able to broaden his perspective and travel across Europe while earning his degree.

From there, his career took off at Law Help Ontario, where he provided pro-bono legal support. It then evolved into roles at Stryker Medical and Prophix software, where he built out various legal functions specializing in contracts. A long-standing connection with a former colleague in the legal field eventually led him to PointClickCare, where he has been an integral part of the legal function for almost seven years now. “The past seven years have been remarkable because of the opportunity, trust, and exposure PointClickCare has given me to help build out the legal function and contracting across the enterprise,” he shared.

What Amandeep Loves About Working in Legal

The legal field, according to Amandeep, demands analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a desire to constantly learn. “Each day often presents a new challenge, demanding legal professionals to delve into research, analyze complex issues, and develop creative arguments. This intellectual stimulation keeps me engaged and continuously growing,” he shared. He also finds the practice of helping PointClickCare navigate various types of contracts and protect its rights to be incredibly rewarding.
