The COVID-19 Vaccine is Here – We’re Ready

The first round of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is going to frontline healthcare workers and long-term care facilities as we speak, and the FDA also recently approved Moderna’s vaccine for emergency use. Delivery logistics are naturally top of mind for everyone – from government to business to healthcare.

Residents of long-term care, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities are one of the first groups to get vaccinated in most states. For LTPAC facilities, the time to prepare is now, but how?

It’s All in The Tech

PointClickCare’s platform is poised to support a seamless rollout. Our platform manages a range of medications for seniors, including existing vaccines such as the flu shot. Which means the 21,000 customers we support already have technology in place to safely and efficiently track vaccinations for COVID-19.

The 2 dose SARS-COV-2 immunization is now available for documentation with PointClickCare. The CVX codes, allergen, and order library containing the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have been updated in our database so customers can track distribution within their facilities.

Providers will be able to use our business analytics to assess risk and prioritize patients, as well as highlight the number of residents in a geographic region or facility who have received the vaccine. This process is quite similar to tracking the flu, although we have updated our system to accommodate the required two-step inoculations.

We’re Here for You

Since the onset of the pandemic, PointClickCare has mobilized to care for our customers. We accelerated the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) timeline to be able to deliver the solutions our customers required when they needed it the most. We’ve hosted webinars with subject matter experts to hear best practices and lessons learned, and we have written blogs to keep our customers up to date with the latest information from the CDC and other reliable sources. Now that a vaccine has been approved, PointClickCare is ready to provide our customers with the technology and support needed to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine.
