NASHVILLE, Tenn. — PointClickCare Technologies, the leader in cloud-based software technology for the long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) and senior living industries, kicked off its eighth annual PointClickCare SUMMIT this week with more than 2,000 attendees. PointClickCare customers, including skilled nursing providers, senior living communities, home health agencies, and continuing care retirement communities (CCRC), are coming together this week with industry leaders, policy influencers, and sponsoring vendors to learn about the latest technology innovations from PointClickCare and PointClickCare technology partners.
Offering a single, connected cloud platform, PointClickCare’s latest innovations, touted as game changing in the industry by customers and influencers, drive collaboration on the most pressing challenges and opportunities shaping the healthcare industry today.
“LTPAC and senior living organizations are on the cusp of entering a turbulent phase in their history, and our clear focus as their technology partner is to provide the innovation and insights needed to help them navigate through these challenges not only successfully, but confidently,” said Mike Wessinger, chief executive officer, PointClickCare. “The most progressive and successful providers and vendors choose to partner with PointClickCare. In turn, we offer a continued resolve to innovate and invest solely and passionately for the post-acute market like no one else, with no distractions. When this group of customers, partners, collaborators, and employees comes together under one roof to share incredible advances in innovation and thought leadership, there is a real sense that anything is possible. That is very powerful.”
SUMMIT is the largest vendor-hosted gathering of LTPAC and senior living professionals in the U.S., offering attendees a unique opportunity to learn, share, and network with the industry’s leading providers, vendors, and influencers. This year, more than 70 sponsoring partners will be exhibiting, and 70 educational sessions have been designed for providers and attendees across the care continuum. During these sessions, industry peers will exchange strategies to overcome key challenges, including the sharing of proven best practices based on real-world experiences.
Interoperability and Episodic Care Coordination
PointClickCare is committed to transforming the way healthcare providers across the care continuum communicate, exchange data, and leverage insights for outcomes. For this reason, PointClickCare chooses to partner with leaders who are equally committed to transforming healthcare. At this year’s SUMMIT, industry experts — including Redox CEO Luke Bonney — will lead sessions on the future of interoperability.
“New Product is a Game Changer”
PointClickCare will also be previewing an exciting new product at SUMMIT that is designed to break down silos across the care continuum by liberating data and revealing powerful insights to providers and health systems, which were not available at scale until now. With this innovation, the healthcare industry can remove obstacles that have prevented the realization of true coordinated care.
More than 60 percent of U.S. skilled nursing providers are using the PointClickCare platform, which represents a significant percentage of hospital referral networks. With this level of market saturation, PointClickCare is uniquely positioned to enable its customers to deliver key post-acute insights to health systems to improve their position in networks. The technology also helps health systems to connect once and gain access to the majority of the providers in their referral networks to more effectively manage costs and risks, improve overall patient outcomes, and gain insights into post-acute patient progress and network partner quality.
“Today, acute care facilities are asking for one thing: They want their preferred skilled nursing facilities to share data in a way that’s meaningful and actionable,” said PointClickCare customer Tim Carey, director of data and performance analytics, Bane Care Management. “With PointClickCare’s new solution, we can both analyze data and offer the raw data that acute care facilities are asking for. This helps us take a massive step forward, and for any skilled nursing facility that wants to become a preferred provider in a health system or ACO network, leveraging this new solution will be extremely valuable. PointClickCare’s new product is a game changer.”
Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM)
As the new payment model generates uncertainty in the market for many providers, SUMMIT attendees will experience a variety of educational sessions led by experts on PDPM that will address its potential impact on LTPAC. PointClickCare customer attendees will also have the opportunity to better understand how their facilities will fare under PDPM by leveraging PointClickCare’s complementary PDPM Risk Assessment. This proprietary analysis is designed to give customers a view into the key strategies necessary to proactively adopt best practices now, which will ensure they optimize outcomes under PDPM.
PointClickCare Marketplace
In 2018, PointClickCare launched the PointClickCare Developer Program, an initiative that revolutionizes the speed and ease with which approved third-party technology partners can build, integrate, and sell products to PointClickCare customers. To date, there are 100 vendors in active development, including 22 live apps available on the PointClickCare Marketplace, a unique ‘one-stop shop,’ which enables customers to more easily discover and evaluate authorized third-party vendors and their integrated apps and services. Twenty of the vendors with apps listed on the PointClickCare Marketplace will be exhibiting at the event.
