Description of Capability
Electronic prescribing enables practitioners to enter prescriptions electronically into a technology framework that transmits the prescriptions electronically to the participating pharmacy.
Costs of Fees
There is a one-time implementation cost and ongoing monthly costs per organization per contracted bed for PointClickCare’s Integrated Medication Management module that is charged to either the organization or the receiving pharmacy.
There is a one-time implementation cost and ongoing monthly costs per organization per contracted bed for PointClickCare’s Practitioner Engagement mobile application only applicable if client desires electronic prescribing from a mobile device. This cost is in addition to the costs above for PointClickCare’s Integrated Medication Management module.
There is a one-time cost to the organization to establish a direct pharmacy integration.
For prescriptions for residents while in the facility, when a direct pharmacy integration is not available, prescriptions are routed via
Surescripts®. Per contracted bed, the costs are charged either to the organization or the receiving pharmacy.
For discharge prescriptions, prescriptions are routed via Surescripts®. At this time, there is no additional cost incurred to the customer for this functionality.
Medispan software is relied upon to demonstrate compliance; however, no additional costs are incurred to the organization or providers.
