  Total Economic Impact study reveals PointClickCare delivers 418 percent three-year ROI

MISSISSAUGA, ON – August 26, 2020PointClickCare Technologies, the leading cloud-based software for senior care, announced today the results from an independently commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of PointClickCare. The Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) analyzed the return on investment (ROI) for PointClickCare’s Skilled Nursing customers. The study comes as the COVID-19 pandemic accelerates the urgency to find a solution to improve the senior care experience.

The study was developed based on interviews with PointClickCare customers to understand the time and money savings they were able to achieve by implementing PointClickCare’s Skilled Nursing solution. Feedback indicated that the solution has made information and reporting accurate and accessible, promoted better decision making, reduced human error, and enabled timely billing and compliance. These capabilities are all part of PointClickCare’s efforts to help eliminate silos across the care continuum while leveraging data to connect and enhance the senior care experience.

Customers reported that resident care has also been positively affected since providers have more time and more accurate data at their fingertips. Key findings from the study include:

  • Customers reported saving 260 hours per year per nursing staff in charting time. With an average of 100 nursing staff per facility, this equals 26,000 nursing staff hours saved per year;
  • Customers reported saving over 2,000 nursing staff hours per year thanks to process automation (enabled through centralized information);
  • Customers experienced a reduction in their nursing staff turnover by 22 percent, due to a decrease in administrative burden, allowing them to do more of what they love: spend time with residents.

These benefits and more total to a net present value (NPV) of $1 million over three years, and an ROI of 418 percent. Additional, unquantifiable benefits reported include improved evidence-based care plans, enhanced privacy, security and compliance, and improved nursing staff audits.

“At PointClickCare, we strive to empower our customers to provide unparalleled care to the residents they serve. Now more than ever, we recognize the need for a digital transformation in our industry to propel a higher quality of care throughout the healthcare ecosystem,” said Russ DePriest, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Skilled Nursing Market, PointClickCare. “We are thrilled to see Forrester’s study reinforce the need for technology and PointClickCare’s ability to simplify and optimize operations, while providing returns on both the top and bottom line.”
