Inaugural Team True North recognizes Canadian tech companies on the path to $1B in annual revenue
Mississauga, ON – June 15, 2022 – PointClickCare, a leading healthcare technology platform enabling meaningful collaboration and access to real‐time insights, today announced it has been named one of Canada’s top performing tech companies by Communitech in the inaugural release of its Team True North — a proactive, data-based initiative to identify the country’s highest-potential tech companies and strengthen the entire Canadian tech ecosystem through all phases of the economic cycle.
Along with several enterprise and innovation ecosystem partners, Communitech’s lineup recognizes Canadian tech companies based on revenue growth performance — identifying which companies have built trusted tech with revenue and growth numbers indicative of scaling to $1B in revenue by 2030 and celebrating the teams and founders creating success for Canada. Team True North represents the 1 per cent of highest-performing global private companies in Canada.
Communitech is Canada’s tech supercharger — guided by the mission to help founders start, grow and succeed, while building a supportive community at every stage of the founder journey. This group of entrepreneurs provides accelerated opportunities for startups, scale-ups and at-scale companies to access talent, capital and sales. In late 2021, Communitech rolled out their True North Strategy to refocus on helping founders and their teams grow faster and bigger than ever before with streamlined programming to boost access to talent, sales and growth capital. Team True North is a key pillar of Communitech’s refreshed mission and vision previously shared at its 2021 annual general meeting.
“We are honored and thrilled Communitech recognizes PointClickCare’s value and growth trajectory as a driver in the success of the Canadian tech scene and has included us in their Team True North lineup of Canada’s top performing tech companies. For years we have partnered closely with Communitech to attract and ensure top Canadian tech talent stays and thrives in the region — something imperative to driving Canada’s innovation economy.”
Mike Wessinger, co-founder and Executive Chair of the Board of Directors at PointClickCare
“Team True North confirms that Canada — with its diverse set of best-in-class firms from coast-to-coast — is well on its way to becoming the world’s top tech ecosystem. These companies have the highest probability of achieving billion-dollar status not only because of their impressive growth rates, but also their unwavering commitment to building trust into technology, which gives Canada a distinct global advantage.”
Chris Albinson, CEO and President at Communitech
This recognition comes on the heels of PointClickCare being named as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the ninth consecutive year. It also follows PointClickCare’s President, Julieann Esper Rainville, being ranked number one among The Top 25 Women Leaders in Healthcare Software of 2022 by The Healthcare Technology Report.
