PointClickCare EHR Platform Receives 2014 ONC HIT Certification
As of version 3.7, PointClickCare is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as an EHR Module (that meets one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services [HHS]) on October 23, 2013 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable Ambulatory certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ONC 2014 Edition criteria support both Stage 1 and 2 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
The ONC HIT Certification Program.
The ONC HIT Certification Program certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2014 Edition criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology. Companies offering ONC HIT certified EHR modules may return to test additional ONC 2014 Edition criteria and certify their products as Complete EHRs later. About the ONC HIT
The ONC HIT Certification Program, provided by the certifying body Drummond Group LLC as an Office of the National Coordinator – Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB), is a voluntary program that evaluates EHR technology that provides for the certification of health IT standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). This certification qualifies EHRs as capable of supporting achievement of meaningful use for the Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). ONC HIT certification does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances (EPCS) Certification Program
The Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21 (§1311.300) states that an “application provider of an electronic prescription application…must have a third-party audit of the application that determines that the application meets the [applicable regulatory] requirements…”

Ohio CEAL® is a comprehensive certification program designed to elevate the skills and professionalism of assisted living administrators in Ohio by combining national competency standards along with Ohio’s most comprehensive state-specific training.
While the state of Ohio does not require a certification or license to be an administrator of a residential care facility (RCF), several states do require their assisted living administrators to be licensed.
