First Impressions of PointClickCare
We took on implementing PointClickCare’s Senior Living platform because the system is designed to make the staff’s job easier. It uses colors that are easy to see, pictures, and short verbiage — it’s a great clinical tool and best of all, it’s simple to use. We’ve had no problems with our staff learning the technology, and the implementation has gone smoothly for us.
Addressing Staffing Challenges
Staffing is a challenge in senior living, and PointClickCare has enabled our care staff to enjoy being part of the decision-making process. Previously, we did everything by hand; there was no electronic charting. Now, with PointClickCare, we can go into the system and document on a day-to-day basis. We’re able to put all the information into a resident’s electronic file upon move-in, and then update it as needed. Plus, our care staff has portable devices that they carry around with them, so as they’re providing services to the residents, they’re able to document the care immediately. They don’t have to go back to the office and rely on their memory. Everything is entered in the system right on the spot.
Partnering with PointClickCare
PointClickCare enables us to look at the trends in our communities — and ultimately drive better care. We’re able to easily see what the care levels are, and how much revenue we’re capturing. It really gives us the full story of what’s going on in the buildings. Plus, our care revenue went up 25 percent in the first year of implementing the system. When we partnered with PointClickCare, less than 10 percent of the user community was deploying a senior living platform. It’s exciting that we’re helping to change the industry.

Conclusion
