Introducing, Kelly Butler, Sr. Director, Convener Success! When she’s not leading her team to success, you can find Kelly in the great outdoors, running, doing a boot camp workout, paddle boarding, and oyster gardening! Let’s get to know Kelly with some rapid-fire.

Rapid Fire 🔥

  • Describe yourself in 3 words:  Collaborative, Creative, Curious
  • What is your go-to karaoke song? I have never sang karaoke, but if I were to pick a song it would be old school and corny, something like Barry Manilow, Copacabana.
  • What motivates you the most? Improving processes, finding ways to solve problems, and being part of a team.
  • What is your favorite holiday? Valentine’s Day! My daughter was born on February 14, 2000. Best gift ever!
  • Where did you go on your last vacation? Vero Beach, FL to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

Journey to PointClickCare

Kelly has spent her entire career in Healthcare IT, and says she found her passion while working at the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS). “Transplantation is an amazing intersection between medicine, policy, data, and technology. Following ten years at UNOS, I worked at a small technology vendor that provided solutions to the Virginia HIE. The opportunity to join Collective Medical came in 2018 when Virginia launched the Emergency Department Care Coordination Program, and I was fortunate enough to be hired as the market director.”

What is Convener Success?

Kelly tells us that when it comes down to it, Convener Success is all about partner engagement. “I love bringing solutions to our convener customers that have a broad impact to healthcare in a state or market. For example, our solution, Bridge to medicated assisted treatment, creates the opportunity to decrease opioid mortality by making a warm hand-off electronically from the hospital to a MAT clinic.”

She also mentioned that because of her role, she can see the impact PointClickCare has in the real world. Kelly says this is the most rewarding part of her job and loves seeing the positive effect our solutions have on patients and providers.

Why She Loves PointClickCare

For Kelly, her passion continues to be ignited by the values and mission of PointClickCare, but it’s the practicality of the organization that she appreciates most. “I have worked for several healthcare technology companies whose solutions were clunky, not user-friendly, and ultimately did not drive the expected outcome. The experience has been completely opposite at PointClickCare. Our customers want and need these solutions to support their work.”

She also says that it’s an amazing experience to work for a founder lead, mission driven company. “A former manager once shared, being hungry, humble, and smart as foundational qualities of a great employee. I have found these qualities in my colleagues at PointClickCare.”

On Leadership

As a leader, Kelly believes the most important characteristics for a leader to possess are empathy, innovation and self-awareness. “I have always embraced the servant leadership style. The key principles being, encourage diversity of thought, create a culture of trust, have an unselfish mindset, and foster leadership in others. I work with many cross functional team members to support our convener clients and we accomplish our goals when we embrace these principles.”

Thanks for sharing, Kelly!
