Arabella was able to integrate their therapy EMR, Restore Skills, with PointClickCare via Marketplace. This allowed them to connect their workflows to transfer key data directly into Section O of the MDS, reducing manual data entry and returning time to their staff.
“It’s a godsend because everybody knows we only have so many hours in the day,” shares Angela McManaway, PTA, Corporate Director of Therapeutic Operations and Services for Arabella. “It makes your life so much easier when everything connects and pulls over and you have accurate information at your fingertips.”
With data now easily accessible, Arabella discovered that their MDS meeting times were reduced from an hour and a half to thirty minutes, and MDS therapy minute documentation could be completed for each patient 10-15 minutes faster.
“Our MDS coordinators are loving it,” notes McManaway. Where previously time had to be located and added manually, after integrating the therapy documentation with PointClickCare, the only step needed was validation. “The MDS nurse doesn’t have to go meet with that manager of the therapy or find that OT that’s off today to get her numbers — they’re not chasing any longer because they have PointClickCare.”
Along with these time savings, Arabella observed 98% accuracy in Section O therapy data transfer – supporting CMS audits and reimbursement accuracy.
