Why do customers attend SUMMIT, our annual user conference?
In a word, the people.
This year, more than a thousand people descended on the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort from November 2nd to November 5th to share knowledge and best practices with their peers. PointClickCare customers, partners and staff discussed the latest insights about emerging technology trends, explored PointClickCare’s newest long-term care innovations, rekindled relationships with old friends, and developed new ones. People left Orlando and returned to their facilities with the inspiration and the ability to put into practice the things that they learned during SUMMIT 2014.
This year marked the fourth annual SUMMIT. Since its inception in 2011, SUMMIT has continued to grow in size and popularity, almost tripling in size. PointClickCare saw record-breaking attendance, hosting over 950 customers and partners from across North America – making this year’s SUMMIT the most memorable to date!
The content has also evolved over the past few years. In 2011, there were two tracks – clinical and financial. End users could dive into the ins and outs of products, emerging industry trends and finding solutions to address real problems to address the ever changing dynamics of senior care.
But something great happened. By bringing together customers, new and old, they had the chance to talk candidly about what is changing in the industry and share their challenges and successes about policies, care, hiring, staffing and the role of technology to address all those needs. They debated interoperability, hospital readmissions and upcoming regulations.
Customers left assured that as the industry advanced, so would PointClickCare and its products, allowing them to take advantage of all that technology has to offer. Keynotes and sessions didn’t miss a topic, present or future: What is Healthcare 3.0? What will it take to go from patient-centered to patient-driven? How are key issues such as hospital readmissions and payment reform changing requirements for providers? What is the next phase of big data and the convergence of that data? What is the evolution of HIT at the intersection of healthcare and technology trends? And of course, what will be offered in the years to come.
This event’s theme — Connect, Engage, Empower — drove the content around products and services, industry trends and company vision. A vision that underscores the necessity to strengthen the ties between healthcare providers, for better outcomes. Industry front-runners delivered inspiring keynotes; breakout sessions offered customers the opportunity to learn about key industry trends that are relevant to their business; an expanded Partner Marketplace housed over 44 exhibitors; and SmartBar appointments provided customers hands-on time with PointClickCare subject matter experts. Connections allowed people to engage and go back to their organizations empowered with stronger relationships with both PointClickCare and their peers. Customers left inspired with new perspectives on their jobs, and the courage to try new things and improve the daily experiences of their staff and residents.
SUMMIT is an experience which ignites the passion that providers possess for delivering the best in care. PointClickCare thanks all its customers and partners for continuously sharing this appetite for learning and sharing not just once a year, but every day.
