- If you could have dinner with one person, who would it be? Kid Cudi. I admire his advocacy work on mental health.
- What’s your go-to karaoke song? A few favorites would be “This is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan, “Under Pressure” by David Bowie and Queen, and the country version of “Gin and Juice.”
Journey to PointClickCare
With a career spanning 15 years in the healthcare industry, Alexis’s journey to PointClickCare began in a Home Health/Hospice agency, where she worked as a Home Care Consultant. It was here she realized the importance of having a successful transition from the hospital to home. Her passion for technology was soon unlocked when she trained her team on a healthcare-focused CRM. This led her to a job helping other post-acute companies leverage technology for increased efficiency.
From there, a representative at PointClickCare reached out to Alexis with a marketing role that perfectly aligned with her background, and she hasn’t looked back since. “Throughout the seven years, I have been able to learn and grow through every role I have taken here,” says Alexis.
Marketing Team Dynamics
Having experienced various marketing environments, Alexis finds PointClickCare’s to be unique. With a standout culture for collaboration and innovation, she explains “the energy that comes from partnering with co-workers to create something impactful is like no other. This partnership keeps me growing and passionate about our company.”
Alexis is also passionate about being part of a team that encourages taking chances, learning from failures, and trying again. She believes this growth mindset drives the development of innovative ideas that make a real difference in the lives of both patients and providers.
On Leadership
The most rewarding aspect of Alexis’ job is leading team members and helping them achieve their goals. She views an effective leader as someone who is results oriented, demonstrates empathy, and possesses strong communication skills.
Authenticity is another quality that holds significance for her. “I made a conscious decision early on in my leadership journey to lead with my authentic self, allowing for trust to be built between my team and I,” Alexis explains. She is also actively involved in mentorship, both as a mentee and mentor, believing in the power of building a network and surrounding herself with allies to support career growth, especially for women.
Driving Success in Acute & Payer Markets
When it comes to the industry, Alexis is most excited about the role technology will play in healthcare to increase efficiency and patient safety – particularly, the sharing of patient information during care transitions. “One of the many ways PointClickCare addresses these challenges is by connecting patient transition with real time data delivered directly into the care teams’ workflow, eliminating the risk of missed critical patient data.” Having witnessed the potential harm caused by missing critical patient data, Alexis is proud to support PointClickCare’s mission to improve care collaboration across the continuum.
Off the Clock
During her free time, Alexis loves staying active by playing indoor soccer. When she wants to escape from the demands of everyday life, you can also find her attending concerts, and spending time on the beach, finding joy in immersing herself in music and nature.
